Whole Cat Workshop: Achieving Harmony for Birds, Wildlife & Cats

Register on their website:

The 2019 Whole Cat Workshop will be focusing on how birds, wildlife and cat organizations can work together in order to be more effective in our efforts to assist all animals. Bob Sallinger, Director of Conservation from the Audubon Society of Portland, Oregon and Karen Kraus, President of the Feral Cat Coalition will headline the day to discuss their decade long partnership focusing on a balance within the Greater Portland area for all species.

Bob is a wildlife ecologist and will share some of the data collection projects that the Portland Audubon has worked on as well as his perspective on the controversial issue. Karen will describe how she and Bob met in the middle to begin to collaborate on a shared mission to develop the "Safe at Home" campaign and their catio tour. Karen will also discuss issues around managed trap, neuter, return and return to field programs and what it is like working in an area that does not have "enough cats".

This workshop will seek to foster an effective dialogue in Massachusetts with multidisciplinary organizations to create a bridge between wildlife and community cat advocates. Guests will leave the day armed with information and tips for how to negotiate conflicts within their communities and create a more harmonious space for the wildlife, cats and humans living there.

*Registration is will open in January and will be announced here. Save the date and stay in the loop for registration opening by following this event. Tell your cat and wildlife friends, too, by inviting them to this event!
