My favorite segment so far- I produced this piece right after I had surgery and it took me 3 hours and I was able to take my time and truly enjoy myself. I loved being around all that cat art- and I only wish that I had known ahead of time what pieces were submitted so I could have written a script before I arrived. Other than that- I really enjoy this segment A Lot! I interviewed Toby Lynne Schwartz on her piece called Feline Fiesta- and I explored other artists in the exhibit.

I've been interested in learning more about Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society (MRFRS) for some time. They are diligent in their feral cat program TNR and spay/neuter on their Cat Mobile. They welcomed me for an interview last year- at the Strut For Strays. I spoke with Lisa Finkel, Vice President, about the programs they have and what the Strut event is all about. I  met a lot of nice people helping cats on the North Shore. There was a nice turn out even though it rained for part of the day, it didn't stop the runners and walkers who attend to support the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society. Kelly Kiley, Veterinary Technician for the Cat Mobile 2 was on hand to discuss the details behind the program they have that spays and neuters cats and she gave us a tour of the van. Their mobile service expands to many locations in and around and outside of the North Shore area. Their team of dedicated caregivers has an incredibly organized task of caring for up to 60 cats at a time in the van. This spring, I also made a trip up to their shelter in Salisbury Massachusetts to get some footage for this segment. I really enjoyed learning about the programs they have in place to help cats in the community and the story behind how they got to the place where they could offer those programs and why. At the shelter I'd like to give a special thanks to everyone who welcomed me and my mom on that rainy day. Especially Britny Fox , Shelter Manager for giving an interview about Feline Leukemia kitty's, and Stephanie Lyon, Marketing Coordinator. I loved visiting the cats at the shelter and look forward to visiting again someday. In addition, we did include our quick and informative interview with Rosemarie Hollandsworth. Although she wasn't available for a comment at post production I believe she can still be reached at the Facebook page by searching CAPA.ORG. For more information on Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society and they cool cats, literally, go to www.MRFRS.ORG. Their next Strut For Strays Event is being held this coming Sunday May 22, 2016!
