Check it out! I was honored to be included in this video as a member in the voice over booth (my fav spot) of PACTV (Plymouth Area Community Television). They're celebrating their 20th Anniversary and they produced a #manneqinchallenge! So much fun! My husband Dustin Fleming filmed this with a co-worker Erika. What an amazing job! Especially that everyone involved was able to be so still for the entire time. They are incredible! Happy Anniversary PACTV!

A professional cat sitter who offers boarding and grooming services for cats, feline aficionada Tonia Fleming, owner of The Kitty’s Corner, just loves cats. At one time she shared her home with eight furry felines. She has always loved animals, whether it was the cats in the house or the chickens in her family’s yard. What she didn’t always know was exactly what she wanted to do with her life, aside from loving cats. After graduating from Whitman-Hanson High School, Fleming worked in retail, but never losing her thirst for knowledge. So, she started taking classes at Massasoit Community College and then at Quincy College in Plymouth. She was often asked to feed her friends’ cats, hearing more than once that she’d never actually get to see the cat because it would be too afraid and hide. They were often wrong. The secret, she said, is to be available when they are ready to meet because a cat’s need for attention usually wins out.

One day while at Ventress Memorial Library in Marshfield, she thumbed through a big book listing all kinds of jobs, but a career in cats wasn’t exactly in the book. So she also pursued a career in public relations, but kept animal care in the picture. She continued to study and earned a degree in animal care management from Becker College in 1996, which included an internship at the Cat’s Cradle in Plympton. And soon she was ready to start her own business. Though she also took public relations courses at Emerson College at the same time, let’s just say she was really smitten with kittens. She opened the first Kitty’s Corner as Tonia Evans in Whitman in 1997 in the same building as her mother’s bridal shop. She was there until 2004 when the building was sold. She didn’t abandon her clients, however. She continued cat sitting in people’s homes on the South Shore. After getting married to husband, Dustin, and moving to Kingston last October, she decided she wanted to start a sort of bed and breakfast for cats in their home at 65 Main St. It’s a business that’s allowed in Kingston by special permit. She primarily goes into people’s homes to take care of their cats, meeting their daily needs. She may also perform other tasks, such as watering the plants or getting the mail. While cats are homebodies and like it that way, some can’t be left alone at home because they require special attention.
